Earth Day 2014

Earth Day 2014 held on 22 April, also known as International Mother Earth Day, is an annual celebration that brings attention to protecting the Earth.

First held in 1970 it has grown and is celebrated in 192 countries. It is the second Earth day held each year, the first held on 21 March. This year International Mother Earth Day will focus on cities as an estimated 50% of the Earth’s population now reside in them. Creating a sustainable and healthy environment is essential to our future, with an estimate 9 billion people expected by 2050.
