Monrovia is the capital city of Liberia, and showcases the country’s vibrant culture, history and resilience. Located on the coastline, Monrovia is a hub of trade and commerce, with traders selling textiles, fresh produce and a plethora of other goods in one of the many bustling commercial zones. Nearby is Providence Island – a UNESCO World Heritage Site that once served as a destination for freed slaves from the United States. Known for their warm hospitality, Monrovians are said to welcome visitors with kindness and open arms.
