Situated on the west coast of South Africa, Saldanha Bay is a natural harbour renowned for its pristine coastline and sweeping views. Bird lovers particularly enjoy the area, as wetlands, fynbos vegetation and diverse landscapes are home to several notable species. The Saldanha Bay Municipality is committed to maintaining the natural environment, which is seen in efforts to remove invasive alien plants, and in its tree and seaweed management policies among others. The municipality also advocates for climate resilience, and has created a plan to assess risks and vulnerabilities, in an attempt to mitigate future harm to the environment, animals and people.
