From 23 – 28 of June the Sustainability Week took place in the City of Tshwane, South Africa.
Government officials, private sector investors, business operators, professionals, researchers and NGO’s were invited to come to the CSIR International Center to share their knowledge across disciplines and sectors to advance the Green Economy in terms of sustainability. The event allowed people from different sectors to encounter the opportunities and challenges from one another’s perspectives.
Several forums and seminars took place, which focused on a specific theme related to green economy and sustainable development. This year, Sustainability Week welcomed the African Capital Cities Sustainability Forum, a forum which is led by the city of Tshwane and saw high-level delegations from all over the continent converge to deliberate on shared experiences and perspectives. Among the speakers of the Sustainability Week 2015 was the UCLG Africa Secretary General alongside with the Mayor of Tshwane Councillor Ramokgopa and many more.
