Over half a century later, Africa is at a time where regional cooperation is all the more necessitated by a changing climate context.
The State of African Cities 2014 Report published by the UN-Habitat, in close cooperation with ICLEI and United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLGA), outlines the different trends, opportunities, and challenges facing local governments across the region. Given the scale and trans-boundary nature of these factors, the report aims to stimulate the discussion and cooperation in realizing a “re-imagined African urbanism”.
ICLEI Africa is committed to working with its partners in realising the potential that African cities have in defining and transitioning towards new development paths. We look forward to our continual collaboration, as well as welcome prospective partners, in making Africa a more sustainable and resilient continent
