Kloto I is the commune covering Kpalimé, Togo's fourth-largest town, in the Plateaux Region about 120 km north-west of Lomé and close to the Ghanaian border. Set among the hills of the Kloto plateau beneath Mount Agou and Mount Kloto, it is surrounded by fertile country producing coffee and cocoa, and is widely regarded as one of the greenest parts of Togo. Kpalimé is also the country's best-known crafts town, with workshops in wood sculpture, weaving, batik and pottery, while its waterfalls and the nearby Misahöhe forest reserve make it a leading tourism destination.
