ICLEI Africa has partnered with the South African Cities Network (SACN) this year to host the 2018 South African Urban Conference, which takes place on 30 and 31 October 2018 in Johannesburg.

Other partners include various national government departments, Gauteng provincial government, the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) and the South African Council for Planners (SACPLAN).

The aim of the conference is to embed the Integrated Urban Development Framework (IUDF) agenda by focusing on what its implementation means in practice for different stakeholders.

ICLEI will also be hosting a post-conference event on 30 October at 14:00 titled Imagining your urban futures: Leave your present at the door. The aim of this event is for the creative development of a distributed, whole-of society capacity for a culture of urban futuring and foresight.

To register for the conference, which is being held at The Forum, Turbine Hall in Newton, Johannesburg, please click here. Registration closes on 12 October 2018.
