Juba City Council (JCC) is the governing body of Juba, the vibrant capital and largest city of South Sudan, located along the White Nile. Established in March 2011, the council serves a population of approximately 1.5 million through its three Blocks Councils: Juba, Kator, and Munuki. Juba experiences a tropical wet and dry climate and is a key economic hub with industries focusing on crude oil, agriculture, forestry, livestock, and fishery.
Juba City Council plays a crucial role in managing the city’s waste through its Department of Environment & Sanitation. JCC remains committed to improving waste management and other environmental practices, and aims to establish a sustainable tariff system to support its efforts in creating a cleaner, healthier Juba.
