Quelimane Municipality

Situated on the banks of the Zambezi River, Quelimane Municipal Council takes pride in preserving local heritage, and follows a community-centered approach that promotes a sense of unity.  The council acts as an administrative body that supports local initiatives promoting children’s rights, access to healthcare and education, traditional music, dance, art and Mozambican culture and more. One other initiative called “Reclaiming the Streets for Pedestrians and Cyclists in Africa” has promoted the use of bicycles as public transport – making the city one with a green agenda. The natural landscapes, breath-taking sunsets and stunning beaches make Quelimane a nature-enthusiasts dream.
