Regional Workshop for cities and local governments on the DAC

The Durban Adaptation Charter ’s First Southern African Regional Workshop, convened under the auspices of ICLEI Africa’s Local Climate Solutions for Africa (LOCS4AFRICA) Initiative, will be he ld 14 – 16 October 2015.
 
ICLEI Africa and eThekwini Municipality are proud to present a technical Southern Africa Regional Workshop for cities and local governments on the Durban Adaptation Charter (DAC). The technical workshop is convened under the auspices of the Local Climate Change for Africa Initiative.

Theme: Accelerating local climate action through implementation of the Durban Adaptation Charter (DAC)

Location: The Greyville Exhibition and Events Centre, Durban, South Africa

Date: 14 -16 October 2015

Who should attend? If you are responsible in your local authority for making day-to-day decisions on planning for, implementing, reporting on, designing programmes, or accessing financing to mainstream and address climate change, this event is FOR YOU!

The objective of this technical workshop is to build and strengthen local government officials’ knowledge and understanding of the Durban Adaptation Charter.

Each day will consist of a number of plenary and parallel interactive sessions around the 10 steps of the Durban Adaptation Charter. Sessions are designed to be highly interactive in order to promote networking and effective sharing of latest information on climate change between top technical experts and city-level officials in Africa.
