Resource summary

Nyerere Square in Dodoma City is not just a park; it’s a symbol of resilience and innovation—a testament to what can be achieved when communities come together to create a greener, more sustainable future.

Using a low-maintenance greywater irrigation system, this park uses grey water from wash basins from nearby public toilets in an underground irrigation system. This ensures a sustainable water supply for the park while conserving precious potable resources.

This video was produced by ICLEI Africa as part of the INTERACT-Bio project. The project is supported by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) through the International Climate Initiative (IKI).
