ALAT is actively participating in this exciting conference with Mr Shumumoyo sitting as a panellist in a session entitled ‘Cities Learn Best from Each Other! The Importance and benefits of city cooperation’, sharing lessons and best practice from Tanzania.
ALAT is a committed member of ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability and sees its participation in the conference as building on their position as co-conveners of the ICLEI Local Climate Solutions for Africa (LOCS) congress held in Dar es Salaam in 2013. This congress saw more than 130 local governments in Tanzania signing the Durban Adaptation Charter (DAC), a commitment which is underlined and supported by the recent International Capacity Building Workshop on the DAC that was held in Dar es Salaam at the end of last year.
