LAB Wetlands SA wins Eco-Logic Award

LAB Wetlands SA Project awarded the Biodiversity Gold Award at the 2017 Eco-Logic Awards

On the 14th June 2017, the Local Action for Biodiversity: Wetlands South Africa (LAB: Wetlands SA) Project was awarded the Biodiversity Gold Award at the 2017 Eco-Logic Awards held at the CSIR Convention Centre in Pretoria.

The LAB: Wetlands SA Project, which is implemented by ICLEI-Local Government for Sustainability (Africa Secretariat & Cities Biodiversity Center), seeks to raise awareness of the value of wetlands, build capacity at a local government level and mainstream biodiversity and wetlands into land-use planning and management. The project was selected as the winner of the 2017 Biodiversity Award from a pool of five nominated finalists including ‘Friends of the Liesbeek’, ‘Nature’s Valley Trust’, ‘Saving the Survivors’ and the ‘Endangered Wildlife Trust African Crane Conservation Programme.’
