Resource summary
The Enabling African Cities for Transformative Energy Access Uganda Scale-up (ENACTUS) project builds on the successes of Phases I & II of the Enabling African Cities for Transformative Energy Access (ENACT) programme, which was implemented in urban informal settlements in Freetown (Sierra Leone) and Kampala (Uganda) from 2020 to 2024.
ENACTUS is funded by UK aid from the UK Government via the Transforming Energy Access platform. It is being implemented by ICLEI Africa, in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Kampala Capital City Authority. The project will scale efforts across the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area (GKMA), targeting thousands of households to boost local economies, reduce health burdens, and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
