Drawing on interviews with experts and researchers on the ground, this 3-part video series examines what research uptake means in an urban African context; experiences of how it can be, and has been, integrated into the research process; and its potential to underpin successful action and implementation.

Watch the second video in the 3-part series: Research Uptake in Practise

ICLEI Africa, and its local government members, have long been calling for transdisciplinary research – research in which members of society are embedded in research processes, contribute to shaping the research agenda, and benefit from the research outcomes. The African Cities Research Consortium (ACRC) project presents a new opportunity to frame and think differently about research and development on the continent. It is doing this by championing innovative research uptake methods in various cities, ensuring the research evidence is integrated into policy and practice, through a whole of society approach.
